WELCOME TO FLAGLER HUMANE SOCIETY
Thank you for visiting our website. “Flagler Humane Society” is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of the animals. The Flagler Humane Society has been serving the animals and residents of Flagler, Volusia and St. Johns counties since 1982. Our shelter is an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY SHELTER. We take in mostly dogs and cats, but will also accept other animals. Our main goal is to place as many pets as possible into a loving and healthy environment. We rely heavily on community support to keep our doors open to the 5,000+ pets that come through each year. Please click here or use the tabs on the left to learn more about our shelter.

New Flagler Humane Society Shelter Director Named
It is with great pleasure, on behalf of the Flagler Humane Society Board of Directors, that we announce the appointment of Jeffrey Hale as our new Shelter Director.
Most of you know that in the past two months we have done an exhaustive search to find the right person for Flagler Humane Society. Jef’s resume always stood out. His past positions have included animal shelter management, animal care and control enforcement and working for the Humane Society of the United States. Each time we talked to him, we were very impressed with his knowledge, experience and deep caring about the animals and staff that cared for them. He was in Gainesville at the time of the 1998 fires, and remembered taking in over 200 of our Flagler County animals during that disaster. People that worked with him remember what a good job he did. People that know him speak extremely positively about his work ethics, his caring for the animals first, his creative ability to solve problems, and his direct attitude towards sheltering. His credentials read like someone who has “done it all”.
We expect him to start after July 4th and we hope you will give him a warm welcome when he arrives. He is here with his three dogs, a great attitude, and brings with him a new chapter for Flagler Humane Society.
When I asked Jef if there was anything he wanted to say to the people that were going to read this announcement, he said “tell them I’m very excited about the move to Flagler County and that I’m hoping to make a difference in the organization”.
In his past positions he has made a big difference. We look forward to his arrival.

Donation Helps FHS Secure Gates
Flagler Humane Society would like to thank Mr. Barry Martin from Quality Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. in Bunnell, Florida for his donation of sheet metal material and labor. Mr. Martin fabricated the metal to enclose the outside drop off cage gates, so the animals will now be more secure at night.
Thanks to Prosperity Bank St. Augustine for Their Contribution
The Flagler Humane Society would like to extend special thanks to the St. Augustine Branch of Prosperity Bank for their very generous contribution of $1,000 to help the animals. Bob Gearst of Prosperity Bank and his wife Maureen put together our annual Pars for Paws golf tournament each year. Prosperity Bank encourages all of their employees to do community service with 4 paid hours a month, and then also donates $100 to those charities, for every 16 hours the employee has worked. We thank Prosperity Bank, Bob, Maureen and all their volunteers for all that you do for the community and for the homeless animals.

Help Wanted – Event Planner & Coordinator
Recently our person in charge of the Flagler Humane Society Events relocated out of the Palm Coast Area. We are now in desperate need of a person who can develop both small and large events to benefit the Flagler Humane Society. This is a volunteer position. If you love animals then this is for you. This lead position would seek out and plan fundraising events, develop a team of energetic volunteers to help, and then contact organizations and resources to schedule, promote and follow through to completion with each event. Previous experience is necessary. If you are interested please send your information to lewisb001@gmail.com.
